I really wanted the person I was working with to be a huge creative talent, and that’s when I met my co-founder Miyako, who was a lead designer at Zac Posen and worked with Jason Wu. I remember when I told her that there were women like me out there who really struggled to find nice clothes, she said, “I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone. Working in the office.” I’d say the rest is history. We went through this process together, where I introduced her to people like me who were struggling to find good clothes. She can’t believe that women like us exist, and the journey begins there.
